Kurds Announce International Military Support

Kurdish security forces have announced that a military airport will open in Erbil that will be the receiving point for international military assistance to the regional government. Iraqi, Kurdish and American forces will jointly operate the airbase.
While the Kurdish security forces have already received weapons from the United States, they have also received pledges of arms support from Canada, France, Italy, Finland, the United Kingdom, and Germany.
Weapons training from the respective supply state will also occur before the weapons are given to frontline Kurdish forces.

Currency Chatter Member Discussion

BigSekz:    I have been in O & G equipment business for many years and I like would to tell everyone a little something from experience. I have dealt in foriegn currency for payment on equipment and other deals for a long time.

 When this thing hits there will be one rate and one rate only paid on the IQD, VND or any other currency. That will be the rate posted on the financial institution of that country.

(Buy & Sell Rate) Currency rates through traders are based on PIPs. A PIP is a percentage of a percentage point, usually varying from 3 to 4 PIPs from broker to broker. That is their profit.
~~~
  I don’t care if your are the Queen or a wine head on the street! It will pay the same. Please do not fall for all this BS about rates or contracts. It is all BS!
I would also like to tell you from watching the markets. Cash out what you need to pay off whatever and sit on your currency. Holding a reserve currency in you hand is a lot better than, having a fat bank account of marginal money in a currency war and tax debt.
This is not financial advise! It is experience and common sense. Please be careful in your plans. After such a long ride in this, it just breaks my heart to read some of the things posted on these sites.
Have a Blessed Day and Thank you all for the news postings.
Blue-Duck:   You got my attention Big one and my intention is just as you say until we are given a limitation on time!  Thanks for posting… Cheers!  :D
BigSekz:   Thanks Blue,   From the information at IMF papers & Banking institutions, we’ll have 2 years to turn in the large notes. I myself am going to let the dust settle and trade for lower denominations.
That way, I can hold on to it for large puchases such as land. The thing to remember is that when you dump it in the bank, you’re annoucing it to the Gov.
The Dong is a international currency now but, the IQD is an exotic currency. That’s 2 totally different animals on the tax side.   Have a good one! 8)
Kathy:    BigSekz….so, explain the difference in the tax base for those of us not upto speed on the tax side!  Thanks!!
Investor1:    BigSekz ,  Great advise and your best friend should be your tax attorney.
Sylvia:  Thank you so much for your advise, BigSekz.  Recently I have wondered if this might be the best way to go….exchange just a little and hold on to the rest for awhile…
Karen:  Yes, a great tax attorney is going to be extremely important.
Does anyone have a list of questions we should ask a tax attorney when we start interviewing them or what we should be looking for? Any help in this area is greatly appreciated!
BigSekz:   Kathy,   A tax attorney will be your best friend and get a referal from somebody that already has big money and use that one. Since this started Obuma has made some big changes in the banking laws & US Banks are not your friend!
Do a little checking on the Bail-in laws passed in the last 2 years from countries around the world such as Canada, Greece, Spain and a few others. Please, do your research and not rely on these sites. Look at the history of the Great Depression and people saved. They were afraid of banks, for good reason.
I am not doing anything until my Tax Lawyer fills me in on what I can & can’t do!
It’s like my Grand Daddy  said ” When folks quit plowing with a mule! They’ll lose all their horse sense”
[SoldierofChrist] Jester if you can’t answer I understand
[SoldierofChrist] I’m just not to knowledgable when it comes to banks and what they offer
[Jester] SoldierofChrist I DON’T THINK IT WILL MATTER… BANKING IS ABOUT RELATIONSHIPS… IF YOU HAVE SOMEONE THAT TAKES CARE OF YOU NOW THEY WILL PROBABLY DO SO IN THE FUTURE?
[LdyFaith] Jester,,, , hate to a sk a stupid question,,, but,,, if reset and no RV,,, does that mean there could be no revalue of any countries curriencies, ,,,??? Just reset to TRN ?
 [Jester] LdyFaith NOPE…. RESET IS GLOBAL… ALL COUTNRIES… BUT… NOT NECESSARILY OUT OF COUNTRY EITHER… STICKY POINT THERE…
[SoldierofChrist] Jester amen thats huge
[SoldierofChrist]   http://online.wsj.com/articles/banking- … 1407924653
[mudbone] Jester It’s kind of a new sensation seeing some of the Dinar Land news crossing over to Main Stream Media or vice versa. I’m sure there’s a lot of stuff in the shadows we never see but it’s a different feeling. Funny how it all falls back to Jesterism’s
[Jester] mudbone WELL YOU KNOW I TRY TO VET THINGS THAT YOU CAN ALL SEE… I HATE TO NOT BE ABLE TO TELL YOU HOW TO VALIDATE THINGS… AND I SELDOM GIVE INFO OUT WITHOUT TRYING TO GIVE YOU THE REAL BACKUP… SOMETIMES I CANNOT BUT MORE OFTEN I LIKE TO SEE THE REALITY AND BE ABLE TO SHOW YOU TOO…
 [SoldierofChrist] Jester I happened to find you because Markz was present here a few months back and I was following him at that time, but as soon as I was opened to the knowledge you presented I knew you were ahead of everyone.
[Jester] SoldierofChrist THANK YOU … MARKZ IS A GOOD FRIEND… HE CARES ABOUT ALL OF YOU…
[Jester] OK… LISTEN TO SOME STUFF…
[Jester] HERE WE GO…
[Jester] Beijing is keen on substituting the US dollar with the yuan in all of China’s trade with other countries. The Chinese currency now trades directly with the Japanese yen, the Australian dollar, the Brazilian real, the EU’s euro, the New Zealand dollar and many other currencies.
[Jester] YIKES! THE HANDWRITING ON THE WALL FOLKS…
[Jester] In June, the UK government agreed to establish a yuan-clearing bank in London that would “act as a signal for London’s growing yuan activities”.
[Jester] China and the UK had signed an agreement last year to establish a reciprocal 3-year sterling/renminbi (RMB, or Chinese yuan) currency swap line.
[Jester] ANYONE SEE ANY OF THIS IN THE US MEDIA? I THINK NOT…
[Jester] China has also signed an agreement with Germany to work on appointing a clearing bank in Frankfurt.
[Jester] In March, Philip Lowe, the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA), told delegates at the Centre for International Finance and Regulation (CIFR) conference in Sydney that the internationalization of China’s currency could eventually transform global capital markets.
[Jester] He added that while China’s transition to a more flexible exchange rate will be gradual, it nevertheless carries with it the “potential to create a seismic shift in the international monetary and financial landscape”.
[Jester] SOURCE…    http://thebricspost.com/yuan-steady-aft … -wo_sJ0zIW
[Jester] NOW YOU WILL LIKE THIS ONE… AND I CAN GUARANTEE YOU DIDN’T SEE THIS IN THE US MEDIA…
[Jester] SO… LETS TAKE A POLL… WHAT DO YOU DO IF YOU ARE PUTIN AND THE US AND EU PUT SANCTIONS ON YOU?
[Jester] THIS REQUIRES PARTICIPATION… HAHAHAHA
[Betsy Ross] Trade with Brazil
[Jester] Betsy Ross VERY CLOSE
[LH] Quit buying American products
[Truth] Jester cut off trade as he is doing with agriculture products.
[Jester] LH ALSO VERY CLOSE
[SoldierofChrist] i would look for support elsewhere
[lulu] Stop trading in US dollars and start dumping the ones you have
[jbmeans] work with China
[LdyFaith] Laugh at the US,,,,,and buy everywhere else
[Hoosier Girl] Team up
[Jester] ALL VERY CLOSE… SO IF YOU ARE SANCTIONED… FLIP THE OLD MIDDLE FINGER AND SANCTION BACK…. HAHAHAHAHA
[Truth] Jester hasn’t he stopped accepting food from us?
[KettleP] start your own IMF
[Jester] The Kremlin had last week approved a ban on food imports from countries that had sanctioned Russia over the Ukraine crisis. More than a third of Russia’s agricultural imports came from the EU. Russia banned all imports of US food products and certain goods from the European Union, Australia, Canada and Norway.
[Jester] AND YOU FIND FRIENDS.. WHO JOIN IN THE FINGER FLIPPING…. HAHAHAHA
[Jester] Meanwhile, Chinese company Baorong has opened a special customs zone for Russia for direct exports of fruits and vegetables across the Russia-China border following the EU ban.
[ljp] Jester some countries are in big trouble if they can’t trade with Russia
[Jester] Following the near total food imports ban imposed by Russia on the US and certain EU nations, BRICS exports to Russia are growing substantially, new data revealed. After 90 new meat plants in Brazil were recently approved to send beef, chicken and pork to Russia, Brazilian meat exports to the country has soared.
[Jester] Brazil is the world’s top exporter of beef and chicken. Brazil’s secretary of agricultural policy, Seneri Paludo said in Brasilia last week the void left by the EU in Russian markets had huge potential for Brazilian exports.
[Jester] THE ARTICLE…    http://thebricspost.com/brics-gain-from … -wqaMJ0zIX
[Jester] GUYS… THIS IS STARTING TO LOOK LIKE PICKING A PICK UP FOOTBALL GAME…. REMEMBER WHEN WE WERE KIDS AND THE LESS TALENTED GUY WAS THE LAST PICK?… IT IS LOOKING LIKE THE SIDES ARE ALL SET UP AND THE US IS GOING TO BE “DO WE REALLY HAVE TO PICK THEM?”…. HAHAHAHAHAHA
[Hoosier Girl] LOL
[Jester] IT SEEMS TO ME THAT IF THE MEDIA WERE CONCERNED ABOUT THE REALITY OF WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE US THEN THEY WOULD BE REPORTING SOME OF THIS… WE ARE ON THE DOWNHILL SLIDE AND THEY ARE COVERING IT…
[Jester] NOW… ONE MORE… CAUSE I LOVE THIS STUFF…
[Jester] Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday gave the start signal through a teleconference for joint drilling in Russia’s northernmost offshore exploration well. Russian state oil company Rosneft and US oil and gas giant ExxonMobil have gone ahead with the drill, sidestepping the strain in US-Russia relations over Ukraine and subsequent round of Western sanctions on Russia.
[Jester] Putin praised what he called the “pragmatism” of Exxon Mobil in going ahead with the drill with Rosneft. Russia’s Rosneft was added to a list of Russian companies under US sanctions on July 16 this year.
[Jester] “Today commercial success is determined by effective international cooperation. Businesses, including large companies, both Russian and foreign, are well aware of that. In spite of the difficult current political situation, pragmatism and common sense still have the upper hand, and that is very gratifying,” Putin said.
[Jester] NOW… I APPLAUD EXXON FOR GETTING IN ON THE FINGER FLIPPING… BUT I BET THIS IS NOT GOING TO GO OVER WELL AT THE NEXT FUND RAISER… HAHAHAHAHA
[Jester] THE ARTICLE…. http://thebricspost.com/exxonmobil-star … -wrusJ0zIX
[Jester] SO YOU HAVE TO ASK YOURSELF… IF THE CORPORATIONS START TO JUMP SHIP AND CHOOSE SIDES… HOW BAD IS THIS REALLY GOING TO GET?
[Jester] ASIDE FROM THE FACT THEY ARE CHOOSING THE OTHER SIDE…
[LuckyB] its going to get Ruff got sure
[mudbone] Jester Good business has always been a sin with this admin.
[Jester] ANYWAY… THERE IS SOME GOOD INFO AND A GOOD PLACE TO FIND STUFF YOU CANNOT FIND IN THE US CONTROLLED MEDIA… http://thebricspost.com/
[Jester] I GIVE THAT SITE THE JESTER SEAL OF APPROVAL AFTER WATCHING THEM FOR A COUPLE MONTHS… HAHAHAHA
[Betsy Ross] Jester I like them too.
[SoldierofChrist] Jester thank you I have been trying to find this news and now I know where to go
[Jester] SoldierofChrist REUTERS IS A GOOD ONE TOO… AL JAZEERA… ANYTHING OUTSIDE THE US PRETTY MUCH… HAHAHAHAHA
[pokerbrat] Jester I like the schoolyard football picking analogy lol
[Jester] pokerbrat HAHAHAHA…. WELL YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN… NO ONE WILL LIKE TO TAKE THE ONE THAT DOES NOT FIT IN… AND THAT IS THE SAD PART… THE US RULED THE WORLD AND INSTEAD OF BEING A BIG BROTHER WE TOOK AND STOLE AND SNEAKED AROUND AND NOW WE ARE GETTING OUR DUE…
[princessA] Jester Do you think we are a ways off from the gcr ?
[Jester] princessA YOU KNOW I DO NOT DO RATE AND DATE… SO YOU WOULD HAVE TO DEFINE “A WAYS”…
[pokerbrat] True true true. The bully is getting punched in the nose on the playground
[Jester] pokerbrat GANGS UP ON BY ALL THE OTHER KIDS…
[chasen] Jester good evening sir! How do you see the restoration of the republic happening? Do you think there will be a public announcement of some sort or will those who are watching know by what we see?
[Jester] chasen HARD TO SAY ON THE PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT… DEPENDS ON WHO IS MAKING THE RULES I WOULD SAY… IT WILL HAPPEN BUT IT COULD BE UNDER THE RADAR AND GRADUALLY COME ABOUT TOO…
[pokerbrat] The lame stream US media neglected to tell one of the biggest stories this century (the BRICK banks) that tells it all.
[mudbone] Jester A hundred years or more of always treating the symptoms and not the cause are catching up with the cabal
[Jester] IT WAS BOUND TO HAPPEN… I OFTEN WONDERED WHY WHEN I WOULD GO OUT OF THE COUNTRY FOR WORK THAT EVERYONE HATED THE US… I ALWAYS THOUGHT WE HELPED EVERYONE AND DID THE RIGHT THING AND WERE THE KEEPER OF TRUTH AND JUSTICE… THE TRUTH HAS REALLY RUINED MY LOYALTY AND PATRIOTISM…
[pokerbrat] But we did get our Kim Kardashian updates lol
[Jester] pokerbrat HAHAHAHA
[jojill] Jester..The patriotism will be restored in time
[mudbone] Jester I’ve re-read and re-considered a lot of history in the last year. And I love history. I’m beginning to see how the masses are lead by the nose so easily. A good ‘Crisis” can hide a lot of evil, and that explains a lot and changes a lot of views and values of the leaders we were taught in school. Change is hard, and nobody wants to go there…
[Jester] mudbone GOOD DEAL…. FINDING THE REAL HISTORY IS THE FUN AND INTERESTING PART..
[Jester] OK GUYS… I NEED TO BOLT AND GET A FEW THINGS DONE… I WILL CATCH YOU TOMORROW NIGHT…
[Jester] YOU GUYS TAKE IT EASY AND STAY SAFE… NIGHT NIGHT…
SkiRacer:  “Overview sent to his Circle and Posted at TNT”
SkiRacer:  Lesson 1: Dinar rates and contracts
(This is what I sent to my circle.  If it helps you -great, if not, no problem skip it and the others. It is my effort to complete my training for my circle and am sharing it FWIIW here.)
LESSON 1:  DINAR RATES AND CONTRACTS
Background:
Each country has a currency it uses for its citizens and government to transact business. The USA has the US Dollar (USD). Canada has the Canadian Dollar (CAN).  Iraq has the Iraqi Dinar (IQD), Serbia has the Serbian Dinar, Vietnam has the Dong (VND), CHina has the Yuan, Mexico has the Peso, the new EU has the Euro (EUR), Norway has the Kroner.
….
You will find areas of the globe that use a similar nomenclature for the countries there. For example many South American countries use a peso but each country has its own. North America uses the dollar but Canada and the USA each have their own dollar. Most Middle Eastern countries use the dinar, but each one has its own. So there is an IRaqi dinar, a Kuwaiti dinar, a Serbian dinar, a Jordanian dinar, a Qatar dinar, etc.
Asset backed vs Fiat Currency
The Iraqi dinar is different from other world currencies in that it is required to be asset backed. This is an attempt by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Bank of International Settlements (BIS), the UN, the US Treasury and everyone else you can think of (except the Federal Reserve in the USA!) to push world currencies to asset backed instead of merely a printing press (known as FIAT money). The USA used to be gold-backed until Nixon took us off the Gold Standard in 1971 because we did not have sufficient gold to back all the outstanding money.  The USA is now a fiat-based system.
Exchange Rates and Spreads:
Each country currency can be traded for a different currency from another country.  There are published exchange rates, typically found on Foreign Exchange sites, such as FOREX, Oanda, US Treasury, etc.  Banks will have their exchange rates as well. There are differences in the rates for which the FOREX (like you find at an airport) or bank will BUY your currency which are less than the Sell rate.  The difference between the BUY rate and the SELL rate is called the SPREAD. This parallels the BUY/SELL philosophy of buying and selling stocks or mutual funds.  Of course, in our case with the dinar we want the smallest spread because we are the SELLERS and the bank is the BUYER.
I doubt if the spread among banks will vary much as it is not in their interest to do so at this point.
IF you SELL Canadian dollars today, the Bank of America will BUY them for .8743 US Dollars. Thus you would sell one Canadian dollar and receive back 87 cents in US coins for the transaction.   IF you offered to sell US$ because you wanted Canadian you would get $1.08 Canadian dollars back.
Here are the BUY / SELL rates for the Iraqi dinar today on Oanda:  http://www.oanda.com/currency/converter/
Selling 1.00000 USD  you get 1,160.56 IQD   (so your dinars are worth something today even)
Buying 1.00000 USD you pay 1,171.10 IQD    (this is what we will be doing but after the RV this rate will CHANGE!.)
DINAR RATES:
For about 3 months the rates have been kept ever so quiet.   All I can do is remember the rates from months ago to report here. They are not likely to match the rates when the RV happens!!   Those are the numbers you might find on FOREX when the RV occurs, or posted on Oanda, BofA, etc.   THis is for examples only.
Iraqi Dinar international rate:   $3.71   (this means when you present one dinar they will pay you $3.71 USD for each one)
Vietnamese dong:                    $2.10   (Again, you will get $2.10 for each dong presented)
History of Dinar:
IN 2003 the world agreed to devalue the Iraqi dinar (which then was at about $3.40 or $3.70 US) to almost zero to prevent Saddam Hussein from squirreling away money that the international community had been  giving IRaq.  No bank worldwide would take the dinar any longer and still won’t. The US and other allied countries accepted the worthless dinar as payment for freeing Iraq and paying for the war, knowing that one day the dinar would be valuable again and their countries would be repaid. The intent was to ReValue the dinar at some point when Iraq reached stability and had emerged from bankruptcy. Well all that has now happened. We just await the RV itself now.
Iraq via this ReValuation (RV)  process will  have asset-backed currency.  Iraq has oil, gold, diamonds aplenty to support a substantial value for the dinar.  The world is very interested in its oil reserves.
Dinar Contract Rates:
THus, the US and China have negotiated with Iraq that for each dinar they present back to Iraq during the RV (meant to help Iraq collect all the large notes that are outstanding worldwide that have been needed for the awful rate Iraq has endured for 10 years), that Iraq will provide one oil credit to that country at $32.  This means that both the USA and China can obtain a barrel of oil for $32 while it is currently selling on the open market for over $100 a barrel. THis is a pretty good deal!
Enter the Citizens who own dinars.  Bush’s Ex Order 13303 in 2003 allowed not only the US GOvt to own dinar but the US citizens as well. However, that is not widely known. Only a select few know. Thus, they own dinar and will benefit richly from the playing out of the ReValuing of the dinar.
Dinar Contract Rates will have a high level and low level within each of the US Contract rates and  Chinese contract rates because both countries want those oil credits.  Remember the FOREX international rate will be about $3.71.  Months ago the rates I was hearing were:
CHINA High rate: $36    Low rate: $32
USA     High rate: $27    Low rate: $20
WHy are these rates different? China is willing to pay more for those oil credits priced at $32 than the USA because buying a barrel of oil at $32 instead of $100 is a good deal and China needs the oil. So CHina pays us $36 for one dinar, buys a barrel of oil for $32, saving $68 on the market price of $100 for a barrel, then subtracts the $4 they had to pay us extra, netting $64 for China for each barrel of oil.  It is not rocket science to imagine that China would be willing to pay more than $36 if it had to because it is still a good deal for China.
In the case of the USA, we have our own oil so we are not as desperate for oil. The USA would pay us $27 for a dinar, making $5 on each one since they turn our oil credit around and sell it to Iraq for $32; thus they buy a barrel of oil at $32 and make/save another $68 if oil remains at $100; so the USA makes $73 ($68 plus the $5 discounted purchase of the dinar) for each dinar the UST can gather to present to Iraq.
The object of the game is the same, each country is merely playing it differently: obtain  oil for $32 a barrel from Iraq.
WHY THE TWO CONTRACT RATES?   Because the USA is trying to make more money. If you take the higher rate the tax rate will SUPPOSEDLY be the capital gains tax rate, and remember the USA is offering to pay you $27 (or whatever the rate comes out at).  IF you take the lower rate, the US Govt has SAID (CAUTION: no law is in  place, it is merely words!!) that they will give you a tax break, plus it cost them less to buy the dinar from you and they make money both coming and going, so they can reduce your taxes.
There will be a separate lesson on taxation.
International Rate vs Market Rate vs Contract Rates:
The International rate above is about $3.71.  That is a guesstimate.  This will be the rate at which Iraq deals with the world, such as in paying for goods, etc. This will be the rate on FOREX and OANDA and the CBI (Iraq Central Bank), etc.  Currencies are not normally taxed when converted. If you buy a currency as a stock then it is, but not if you present raw currency for trade.  (THERE is some disagreement on this point).
Let us consider for a moment that the rule is currency presented is not taxed. Then you can present your dinar at FOREX and get $3.71 (less FOREX’s spread). FOREX will present the dinar to the UST. Then the UST still gets an oil credit but this time having paid only $3.71 for it, saving over $23 apiece on this end ($27-$3.71). THEN the UST buys a barrel of oil for $32 making the oil pretty dang cheap!  Remember it sells on the open markets for $100! So the USA makes $68 on that end. In total the USA makes $91 on this deal.  So the rumor is there will be no tax if you exchange at the international rate.
The USA Is not stupid. They know they could give a small bonus to entice you to sell your dinar at a cheap rate and not the lowest rate to eliminate FOREX.
So the USA is offering (last we knew) a Market Rate, which will be about $5 or $6.  That still saves the USA about $20 apiece on this end.  The tax situation has not been stipulated.  SO in the end the USA still makes about $88 per barrel of oil at this rate.
The Contract rates were discussed above.
The next lesson will be on choosing a bank for your Currency Exchange.
14 Ways That Reveal Who You Really Are
14 Ways That Reveal Who You Really Are
Communication Relationships by Asli Omur
Many times those who are living a lie do so because they don’t feel it’s safe to reveal who they really are. They might be frightened by disapproval from friends and family. Or they may have been bullied as a child. Other times, avoiding an authentic life can be used to hide mental illness or self-hate.
Here are 14 ways in which you reveal who you really are. If you’re brave enough, or if you dare, aim to share who you really are, little by little, everyday, with those you trust. You may be surprised at the reaction. If the reaction is not positive, you may need to re-think who you are inviting into your world.
If you don’t feel you have a safe group of friends or family, yet, to share yourself with, go out and live with all your truth and conviction. Don’t forget a half-truth is still a lie.
~~~

  In time, you’ll attract those that need to be in your life. I promise. There is no greater comfort than settling into who you really are. Like Kurt Cobain once said,  ”Wanting to be someone else is a waste of the person you are.”

1. Hardships reveal who you really are.

Allowing yourself to be exposed and raw is a very intimate experience. To really know yourself and others, what you are like at your most vulnerable, will include revealing yourself at your worst moments.

Sometimes with tears  streaming down your face or when you are emotionally downtrodden and weakened. It could be due to heartbreak, a job loss, disappointment, a death in the family or a divorce.

All can be truly tragic and upsetting to the rhythm of your life and dreams. This is one way you will reveal who you really are. During hardship, you can choose to remain stagnant and fearful or you can learn from the misery or your poor choices and make a new path for yourself.

2. How you act when you’re upset.

If getting upset or disappointed involves you taking your anger out on others (verbally or physically), you are revealing yourself negatively. It makes people want to step away from you and not be your friend.

 It repels good people from your life. Even your family members may want to separate from you, especially when you are furious and raging.

 If you take a time out to process the situation, and why you are so upset, and be cognizant of how you relate to others when you are pissed off, you’ll be better off.

 It won’t be easy for everyone. But controlling yourself even when life is not being kind will only benefit you. Never forget, as Mark Twain once wrote, “Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured.”

3. How you treat those who can do nothing for you.

If you only care about impressing those in positions of power, or those who are rich or good-looking by society’s standards, so that you can benefit from this connection, you reveal yourself to be shallow, self-centered, narcissistic and lacking in empathy.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe is said to have written, “You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him.”

 How you treat those in less prominent positions and those who may not be famous or well-known or powerful in society is very telling as to who you really are and what you really are. But if you’re tired of the way things have always been and are committed to another approach, you can change your habits.

4. Who you are when no one is looking.

You are who you really are when no one is looking. Truer words have never been spoken, or written. It’s easy to do the ‘right thing’ when others are watching and taking note.

 But what you do and how you cope when there’s no one there is very powerful. If you are lying, cheating, hacking private e-mail accounts, plotting revenge, gossiping about others, taking advantage of someone, choosing what’s easy, are keeping and creating endless secrets, you are revealing an unhealthy way of living.

Often, if who you are in private and the self you present to others and who you are inside, is drastically different it can cause significant stress and internal chaos. It’s like holding yourself emotionally hostage.

 If you are really scared to be who you really are in the company of others you care about, you may be overly preoccupied with how others view you, and how they might respond to your style or interests.

Don’t pre-judge their reactions. Make it your aim in life to embrace yourself completely. Being who you really are relies on it. If you are being kind and welcoming, speaking honest and thoughtful words, and wishing only the best for yourself and others, you are revealing a healthy outlook worth continuing.

5. The types of relationships you pursue.

Sometimes those who have not healed from past relationships, abusive situations or other traumas, will continue to pursue those that remind them of their troubled past. It’s important to remember that you are not your past.

 Your past is a part of your story, but it is not everything and you don’t have to keep reliving it everyday. Who you are attempting to date, marry or befriend can reveal who you really are, but if you are not fully healed, your pursuits may be skewed and are only temporary.

If you find yourself interested in a particular type of personality, there may be a pattern to your choices. You may also be pursuing people because they reflect how you view yourself and the world. Your relationships can reveal a lot about who you really are.

6. How often you admit your own mistakes and failures.

Mistakes and failures are a natural part of living. Without mistakes and failures, we wouldn’t learn all that we do. You may take responsibility for your actions and are honest about the part you play in the choices you make, you may not want to acknowledge your troubles at all, because you just can’t deal or you may be hesitant to mention where you went wrong because you are most concerned with how others will view you and what others will say or think of you.

These are some ways you will reveal who you really are. Mary Pickford, one of the first actresses of the United States and Canada, once said, quite beautifully, “You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing that we call ‘failure’ is not the falling down, but the staying down.”

Not only how often you accept responsibility for your actions but also how you  cope with the failures will reveal who you really are.

7. How you treat people in need.

Do you look down on those that have less than you? Do you pity them or come to their aid? Do you ridicule their style or make fun of them? Are you willing to help others or do you feel put out? However you may approach those in need will reveal who you really are.

8. What you read, listen to and get entertained by reveals who you really are.

Do you like anime? Sadomasochistic films? Action or political satire? Do you enjoy listening to the radio or violent movies? Does a comedy make your evening complete or maybe a famous trilogy?

Do you like classic literature or journaling your thoughts? Do you paint or work on engineering and coding? Or are you more business-minded? Do you collect dolls or something else?

 Do you prefer traveling, listening to records, or jogging? Do you frequent strip clubs, expensive resorts or casinos? Do you like photography, attending live music shows or gardening?

Do you spend time wreaking havoc in your community, vandalizing and bullying passersby? Do you find pleasure from quiet time at the library or a soothing chat and tea with an elderly person?

Do you use drugs to numb yourself or drink until you are passed out? Do you enjoy a weekly television program or cooking up edible delights from scratch?

There are a million ways people like to be entertained. One’s entertainment preferences often reflect what’s going on inside their mind and heart. What you choose to do in your free time and what you find joy from tells all about your story and who you really are.

9. The way you approach your greatest failures.

Your failures don’t define you, and you shouldn’t wallow in self-pity or punish yourself for the stones that may obstruct your path from time to time. But how you approach those struggles will reveal what you are made of and who you really are.

If you use your failures as a time to attack those around you, play the blame game or belittle and humiliate, throw tantrums or yell obscenities, it’s time to take a look into your habits and character. Your greatest failures are often simply the beginnings of your greatest achievements.

10. What you find comforting reveals who you really are.

If you find pleasure in the struggles of others (Schadenfreude), or laugh at their expense, because it makes you feel better about yourself, you are revealing yourself negatively.

 If you find comfort in loving, sharing and being kind, you are revealing an empathetic approach to others. Celebrating someone’s bad days just because you feel low about yourself isn’t cool or interesting.

 It doesn’t make you seem fun or enticing to hang around. What you find comforting and relaxing will reveal quite a bit about who you really are and what you really want out of life for yourself and those around you.

11. How you spend your money.

Going on spending binges, spending money you don’t have or at the other end of the spectrum, never spending any money and living very frugally are all ways of revealing who you really are and what you feel inside.

Do you spend your money to help others, your community or to furnish a comfortable, inviting home? Do you enjoy spending your money on loved ones and family members?

Are you cautious with where your money goes? Do you keep a financial log and save all your receipts? The way you spend money and view finances shows a lot about who you really are.

12. How you speak of others behind their backs.

Gossiping, accusing, criticizing, unsolicited advice and blatant lying are some peoples choices when offered a chance to speak of others.

Others might opt to not talk about others private comments and personal life, but instead focus on kind and respectful words or not talk too much at all about others when they are not around, to avoid denigrating another’s character or life, out of turn, and without all the facts.

Remember that what you say about others will reveal a lot about how you feel about yourself. What you say about others will show who you really are. If you need to speak the truth about someones hurtful or negative actions and their impact in your life, it’s a quite different story, however.

13. The choices you make are revealing of who you really are.

When you are faced with options, how you choose reveals who you really are and what you really want. Do you go for the easy route? Or is being brave and daring important to you?

Do you like new ways of approaching an old topic? Do you reach out to a counselor or is your father’s opinion more important to you? Do you go for the popular choice or the most healthy option?

The pattern of your choices are a big part of your true self.

14. How you argue.

Fighting fair is an integral part of any relationships. Do you go straight to the most insulting retort? Do you hear out your friend or partner? Or do you opt for swift revenge?

Revenge will only lead to more emotional injury and show that who you really are isn’t so healthy. As Mahatma Gandhi once stated, “An eye for an eye will only make the whole world blind.”

If that’s the way you have been operating and want to change, you can change how you fight or argue.

When you fight, do so neutrally, recognizing that perfection is illusive. Be present, open and honest.

Don’t keep score and don’t demand someone read your mind or try to do that of others.

If you want to reveal a healthy and revitalized self, you’ll listen and encourage the same of them, when it’s your turn to talk. The way you choose to argue or discuss a disagreement shows a lot about who you really are and what you are about. Remember that almost everything we live is a choice.

Dollar little changed after mixed U.S. data

Investing.com –

Investing.com – The dollar was little changed against the other major currencies on Thursday, after the release of mixed U.S. economic reports, as comments by Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen continued to support.

USD/JPY slipped 0.16% to 101.52, off Wednesday’s one week highs of 101.78.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia said that its manufacturing index improved to a more than three-year high of 23.9 this month from June’s reading of 17.8. Analysts had expected the index to dip to 16.0 in July.

The data came after the U.S. Department of Labor said the number of individuals filing for initial jobless benefits in the week ending July 12 declined by 3,000 to 302,000 from the previous week’s total of 305,000.

Analysts had expected jobless claims to rise by 5,000 to 310,000 last week.

Separately, the U.S. Commerce Department said that the number of building permits issued last month fell by 4.2% to 963,000 units from May’s total of 991,000. Analysts expected building permits to rise by 4.2% to 1.04 million units in June.

The dollar had found support after Ms. Yellen said Tuesday that rates could rise sooner if the economic recovery continued to improve. However, the Fed chair also said that if the recovery was disappointing monetary policy would remain accommodative.

USD/CHF eased 0.01% to 0.8981, coming off Wednesday’s highs of 0.8988.

The euro remained near one-month lows against the dollar, with EUR/USD at 1.3524 as the divergence on monetary policy between the European Central Bank and other central banks pressured the single currency lower.

ECB President Mario Draghi said earlier this week that large scale asset purchases are “squarely” within its mandate. The remarks were the latest indication that the central bank is open to further monetary easing measures to stave off the risk of deflation in the euro area.

Earlier Thursday, Eurostat said consumer price inflation rose 0.5% last month, in line with expectations and unchanged from a preliminary estimate. Euro zone inflation rose by 0.5% in May.

The rate remains firmly below the European Central Bank’s target of near but just below 2%.

The pound slipped lower, with GBP/USD down 0.22% to 1.7100, down from a nearly six-year high of 1.7190 struck on Tuesday.

AUD/USD edged up 0.11% to 0.9378, while NZD/USD was down 0.31% to three week lows of 0.8685.

The Canadian dollar edged higher, with USD/CAD adding 0.13% to 1.0756 after the Bank of Canada left rates on hold on Wednesday and said the future path of monetary policy would be data dependent.

The US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, was down 0.01% to 80.62, not far from Wednesday’s one month highs of 80.66.
