7-18-2014 Newshound Guru Tlar If the SOL chooses Chalabi and/or Mahdi, its done and should be signed sealed and delivered on Wednesday. Turki then should feel free to push the button changing the rate within days of the announcement that there is a new non-sec tarian government. Jubilation will finally come to the Iraqi street.
7-18-2014 Intel Guru EXOGEN Fact: There will be no budget till at the least Wednesday the 23rd since it constitutionally requires the signature of the President of the Republic. This needs to be done to officially give all Iraqi citizens their 5% of all oil revenues generated from all Iraqi oil exports. Once the POR is announced on Wednesday, the SOL party being the largest bloc will put up its nominees for PM with the caveat that it cannot be Maliki who should have officially resigned by then, but if not the other blocs will unite and become the largest bloc and will name their own PM which will then bring in the new ministers and replace the old SOL ministers that are there working now.
7-18-2014 Intel Guru DC [via Duke] Finally as the tide is coming against [Maliki] in a major way he finally said I’m gone. Therefore he issued his retirement again and resignation to all parties here in the past few days yet again and it was accepted. UN is happy/pleased on how quickly Iraq settled down - and their political process is maturing. Everybody is where they should be and hopefully they will make these decisions quickly.
7-18-2014 Intel Guru TNT Tony [via Duke] Iraq has done everything they are supposed to do and notified everyone they are ready - that notification went out this AM. UN is happy. Its' a great day today and we are hoping final decisions will be made. Last 48 hours have been actually up and down for us but right now...where we're at things are looking good. We're where we need to be for final decisions to show...announcements will come but I don't know when...we are in a good place.
7-18-2014 Intel Guru Okie_Oil_Man FROM SOURCES THIS PAST WEEK THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN IRAQ THAT HAS BEEN HAVING AN EFFECT ON THE GCR/R/V PP HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED. ALTHOUGH THE R/V-PP/GCR WAS DEBATABLE ON IRAQ'S POLITICAL POSITION IT WAS GIVEN PERMISSION FROM THE B.I.S. AND I.M.F. AS A MATTER OF COURTESY FOR IRAQ TO HAVE THE PRIVILEGE OF INITIATING THE ACTIONS THROUGH ANNOUNCEMENTS MADE BY IRAQ AS TO THE COMPLETION OF THESE 3 EVENTS. SOURCES ARE EXPECTANT OF THE ANNOUNCEMENTS TO COINCIDE WITH THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE GOV OF IRAQ BEING SEATED. IT IS STATED THAT C.L [CHRISTINE LAGARDE] AS WELL AS J.L. [JACK LEW] IS GOING TO MAKE AN ANNOUNCEMENT SUNDAY. I ANXIOUSLY AWAIT PROOF OF THE ACTIONS BEING STATED.
7-18-2014 Newshound Guru tman23 From the outside looking in it appears that the POR nominee will be known this coming Sunday...Then come the following Wednesday, 23rd Parliament will convene and elect Barham Saleh. Barham Saleh will the direct the largest party to begin forming the government which is announce your PM nominee. The SOL being the largest group will announce Shahristani as their nominee which I believe may take place on the 27th...Thus the 28th a Monday we will know who is who and between the 28th and 30th we will have the new PM nominee elected.
7-18-21014 Newshound/Intel Guru BGG [Do you think rate is under or over $1.] I'm far more interested in the "date" than the "rate"... just get this party started!! They could tell us it's $35...but if it never happens - what good is it??
7-18-2014 Newshound Guru Tlar Articles: "Kurdish source: Akila Talabani agree to run for the presidency in favor of return for abandoning his party" "Qubad: President Talabani to return to Iraq next Saturday" [would having Talabani back be a detterrent, or an aide in The process of the selection of the POR, & ultimately the PM position?] I don't believe it would change anything anymore.
7-18-2014 Intel Guru SteveI The next huge question is the federal budget of 2014. They finally combined both the 2014 and 2015 into one. This is a huge plus for our investment because they are now looking forward into the future. So, the next thing on everyone's mind is the rate. The rate I posted a while back stands. ...as for a timeline and based on the speed of the importance of the budget, I feel that by the end of next week which is close to the end of this month, we will finally share reality that was only dreams prior to this. [post 2 of 2]
7-18-2014 Intel Guru SteveI The parliament [is] now complete. Iraq has a full sworn in (under oath) parliament. This is huge, actually the best news yet because the completed parliament has the power to move the country forward. Now is the million dollar question, who will be the next Prime Minister of Iraq. I can assure you the the current one is no longer a factor. The Prime Minister is submitted by the largest bloc and yes, the parliament approves him too. The parliament has full control at this point. This again is huge with respect to our investment...the next Prime Minister can appoint a new Governor of the CBI. [post 1 of 2....stay tuned]
7-18-2014 Newshound Guru Millionday Article quote: "Mass citizen confirmed to having the chance to rectify the vote on the current year budget in 2014" they are saying that the plans are to hustle and i mean hustle with the budget ...very interesting how much they are working -- love it.
7-18-2014 Intel Guru tman23 [new guru] There is no firming up the POR position, that position is settled and has been for 18 months...Maliki internally has agreed to resign his position as a nominee for PM, the SOL is not waffling...As of now the steps being taken are to stabilze the military before announcements and the upcoming transition...The second focus is on the corruption of Iraqi politics...It is said that political corruption causes a corrupt military, these 2 events political and military are being stabilized...NO DELAYS...it is a process. Please understand that those are not my thoughts...simply what I was told... And it comes from the direction that told me Jabouri selected to be speaker...and 18 months ago that Barham Saleh was definite POR...and that Shahristani was setting up for PM...Way before the news articles.
7-18-2014 Newshound Guru wmawhite the CBI knows how much IQD is outside of the CBI. They have accounted for every one of them...also, the CBI could not care any less if I owned everyone of those IQDs or if they were shared between everyone else. They do not care. The CBI already knows what will happen to them...the virtual rebuilding of a country's financial sector is a process with a start date and end date. This process requires the assistance of many people and institutions from around the world. We believe they are near the end of it...although it will never really end. When they are ready they will push forward and do it...

7-16-2014 Intel Guru Bluwolf Well my belief is that we are just a phone call away from entering the bank. I know for a fact that Iraqí government is now officially sorted out and shall all be seated within hours...CL gave you the time frame and the deadline is 7-20 for the GCR. I will agree on that your rv should be casted off within hours, new PM new International Release.
7-16-2014 Newshound/Intel Guru Doc This article pretty well sums up what our ME contacts told us…"Sunni cleric Abdul Malik Al-Saadi, who praised the "mujahdeen" (holy warriors) leading the revolt, said tribes were the backbone of a broad based insurgency battling against Iraqi Shi'ite Islamist Prime Minister Nuri Maliki's rule…." We categorically disagree with those that are reporting the situation is not that bad. The issue continues to be Maliki has not and most likely will never form an inclusive government. The situation was bad enough that it has led to civil war. For currency reform to even be considered an inclusive, stable government must be formed and functioning. While we believe this can happen it is most likely months away. We are hopeful that 2015 brings a stable Iraq. We report, you decide.
7-16-2014 Newshound/Intel Guru Adam Montana 1, the end of Ramadan (July 28), and 2, the seating of the Government and of course figuring out who will be PM… and all of this is likely to be complete this month! The Kurds are continuing to sell oil and Baghdad isn’t getting any of the proceeds. This is going to continue to put pressure on political leaders to get it together. Obviously this is good for us. Work on the major pipelines continues, which will put more pressure on the HCL… again, good for us…Iraq is doing just fine and I’m looking forward to seeing what they have to offer us in August. [Post 2 of 2]
7-16-14 Newshound Guru Stryker Today started the search for Iraq's New President which ends Sunday the 20th at midnight and Maliki looks to resign anytime now...
7-16-2014 Newshound/Intel Guru Adam Montana Over the last few weeks we’ve been bombarded with doom and gloom about ISIS attacking and much more…The truth of the matter is simple… Iraq is not falling apart, and in fact they are weathering this current storm admirably. The dinar is stable in spite of the situation with ISIS, holding strong at 1200 per 1USD. This is good…we are looking towards two things: [Post 1 of 2 Stay tuned for the rest of the story]
7-16-2014 Newshound Guru tlm724 Article: "Jubouri: there is a package waiting for approval laws" Quote "there is a package waiting for the laws of the new deputies for approval" you never would have heard those words from Najafi! Najafi didn't care...great news.
7-16-2014 Newshound Guru tlm724 I think that Gov Turki is getting more and more secure in his aspirations for the [removal of the three zeros] project. I will say again, the security he and Dr. Shabibi meant IMO was the secure banking electronic system...everyone should be excited because the new GOI has the chance to breathe life back into Iraq and into your investment! It's a New Iraq!
7-16-2014 Intel Guru TerryK THIS WAS SYNCED TO HAPPEN AT 2...THEN PUSHED TO 6 AM. NOW THEY ARE TO OPEN THE BUDGET AND SIT TWO POSITIONS TODAY AND WE ARE TO SEE THIS LATER HOPING LATER TONIGHT. VERY QUIET, THATS THE DESIGN AT THE VERY END.
7-16-2014 Newshound Guru Shredd imo, as soon as govt is seated, the CBI will engage the removal of the three zeros project as Turki stated and that will bring a rate set.
7-16-2014 Newshound Guru Tlar Comment - the President of parliament and both his deputies have been voted in. Tomorrow [Wednesday] they work on the President of Iraq and his Vp's. That should take no more than a couple of days to get done. Then move onto the PM position. Maliki seems to have a problem. He was asked to leave parliament because he was not sworn in. He can't be sworn in while he is the acting PM of the previous government. He has to resign first before he can be sworn in. If he resigns he knows he could be arrested. Catch 22. Once the PM position is up for grabs, he will not be eligible if he doesn't resign and get sworn in. Gees, what's a dictator to do. Has he been alphonsed by the system. If he resigns he looses his immunity. All the new speaker would have to do is postpone the meeting one day not allowing for him to be sworn in and he would be exposed without immunity. This thought was brought to you by a friend named Revbo. I think it is dead on.
7-16-2014 Newshound/Intel Guru BGG The big news is Jubouri was elected as Speaker of the House, and 2 or 3 deputies. Maliki was asked to leave Parliament because he had no business there & was escorted out. When Parliament was sworn in, I think it was the beginning of the end for Maliki. IMO, as soon as this government is seated and settled, one of the first conversations will be financial reform, economic reform and currency reform. Currency reform is not going away. It is a very very public topic. So, once all the roadblocks are out of the way you will see something done about that in very short order. I think in the next few days there will be some resolution to this whole government situation. This is magnificent news for our investment and for Iraq. Good things coming in the next few days.
7-15-2014 Intel/Newshound Guru Poppy3 [Still think the RV could come quick after they get this done...?] YET TO BE SEEN, BUT FROM ALL INDICATIONS ON THE FINANCIAL FRONT THEY WILL NOT WAIT LONG TO RV AND GET INTERNATIONAL. I SEE NOTHING HOLDING THEM BACK AFTER THE PM AND GOI ARE ALL SEATED.
7-15-2014 Intel Guru TerryK I'M GOING TO BE VERY CAREFUL HOW I SAY THIS. OK, READ BETWEEN THE LINES...TONIGHT SUPPOSE TO HAPPEN WHEN THE BANKS SYNC AT 2 AM. I REALLY HOPE THE LEAD TODAY IS CORRECT FOR TONIGHT.
7-15-2014 Newshound Guru Tlar In any event Turki also said over a month ago, "if the government were put together (settled) he would do it today when speaking of monetary change." The CBI has said on numerous occasions that prices are firm in the market and that the dinar was strong during this period. He has continued with BUSINESS AS USUAL just waiting for the government as we have been. THEY ARE READY AND WAITING. [post 2 of 2]
7-15-2014 Newshound Guru Tlar While we have mostly concentrated on the politics of Iraq, the CBI has been forging ahead. The rate is under their control and meets the IMF requirement to move to an Article VIII currency. Article VII means a currency that can be traded globally. Once the government is set the budget will be the first order of business. The budget can be voted on before they vote a new PM in but the way things are moving the new PM should be in place by the first part of next week IMO. The CBI has stated since the beginning that the reserves are out of country being held at banks around the world and will be brought back home once the government is set. It is my belief that the reserves were being protected not from the ISIS, but from Maliki. [post 1 of 2....stay tuned]
7-15-2014 Newshound Guru Stryker An Historical Day Took Place in Iraq Today. Today in Parliament saw MP Salin-al, a Sunni elected as Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, then later today the First Chair Speaker went to Haider Abadi from the State Law Coalition. The Kurds ended the parliament day with their own Aram Shelkh Mohammed winning the Second Speaker Chair, now the President process starts. We have witnessed the start of the formation of the New Government in Iraq and there are signs the process will not be stopped. You may want to tell the people that think nothing happens during Ramadan to think again. I really like where we are right now folks.
7-15-2014 Intel Guru Mnt Goat They must choose a president within 30 days of electing a speaker. The clock starts ticking today. I believe they will have the president announced before this current session is over. They must nominate a new prime minister Within 15 days of the president's election. We can expect the new president to be voted on very quickly. Then the fun begins with the battle for the new prime minister. The longest they can legally go now without having a full government seated, according to their constitutional deadlines, is August 29th but we have seen these dates come and go before. [post 2 of 2]
7-15-2014 Intel Guru Mnt Goat The Iraq parliament...did meet on Tuesday, which was its third meeting. The Iraqi parliament named moderate Islamist Sunni politician Salim al-Jabouri as the new speaker. The second step to building their new government is done. A date for the next session or continuation of this session has not yet been announced or will they simply continue with this current session? If they continue with this third session they could simply meet tomorrow again and continue their work. We could possibly have all of the three presidents seated by the end of the week if no interference or arguments arise. [post 1 of 2....stay tuned]
7-15-2015 Newshound Guru Tlar Article: "Minister al-Maliki and leaving the chamber after a request from the Kurdistan Alliance" Kurdistan asked Hafez to remove Maliki and his Ministers from the parliamentary session (Tues) at the get go. Maliki and his Ministers that were not re-elected and had they had no business being in the session. Hafez agreed and Maliki and his ministers were to leave and according to this article, they did.. There is no news yet as to the POP being elected but this is a good sign. Maliki and his Ministers will not be allowed to attend these sessions so disruptions if there are any, will only come from the SOL. I don't think we will see many now that al-Sistani have given an ultimatum for the resignation of Maliki and has made it clear there will be a price to pay if he does not and that he will inject himself into the process and he will pick the nominee for PM if he has to.
7-15-2014 Newshound Guru chattels [think we'll get a PM today?] most anything is possible, but i would be surprised if a complete government is seated today. [do you think that's what we are waiting for? A complete gov?] i think that it is likely one thing that we are awaiting. [Is jourbi a good choice?] unknown to me, but perhaps it is progress and what we need/want is not certain people but closure and completion. no nomination of the PM as yet...the only determinative vote by the Parliament today of which i am aware was for the Speaker of Parliament, Jobourri.
7-15-2014 Newshound Guru Tlar Originally the coalition had hoped to bring the SOL around to their way of thinking and then put up all the positions in one basket and usher in the new government on one vote. This has proven almost impossible and 15 days later the plan apparently has been changed. The new plan is to chop this tree down one chop at a time. In other words one position at a time. It will be interesting to see if once the government is set, everyone but the PM position, will the SOL still stay the course and still nominate the toxic Maliki or will they finally come around. It will take a few days voting everyone in but the PM and there is still hope for a Maliki resignation. Barring that happening, the coalition still holds all the cards. If the SOL nominates him he will be voted out immediately.
7-15-2014 Intel/Newshound Guru Poppy3 THE NEWS IS WILD TODAY AND TONS OF IT FROM ALL THE MEETINGS SINCE THEY ADJOURNED SUNDAYS MEETING ENDED WITH NO OFFICIAL PROGRESS. TOMORROW [TUESDAY] THINGS ARE SAID TO BE READY TO GO FOR A FINISH. THEY ARE SAYING THE MEETINGS HAVE PRODUCED THREE SOLID CANDIDATES THEY HAVE ALL AGREED ON AND MALIKI ISN'T ONE OF THEM AND HE HAS NO VOTE. HIS OWN BLOC APPEARS TO HAVE PARTED WAYS WITH HIM AND WILL SUPPORT SOMEONE ELSE. ...I AM GETTING EXCITED AGAIN. I CAN SEE AN END TO THIS.
7-15-2014 Newshound Guru Millionday Article quote: "The top Shi'ite cleric in Iraq, Ali al-Sistani has delivered a verbal message to the outgoing Prime Minister , Nuri al-Maliki, telling him that he should step down from his post during a week to make room for to choose an alternative and end the crisis in the formation of the government." SO AS WE SEE HE THE RELIGEOUS AUTHORITY HAS ASKED MALIKI TO HIT THE ROAD JACK. [If they want Maliki out why is he staying?] HE SEEMS TO THINK THAT THINGS WILL CHANGE BY TAKING CREDIT FOR UPCOMING CHANGES AND PROGRESS BUT I DONT THINK THAT IS AN OPTION DUE TO THE LOSS OF SO MANY AND HIS LACK OF LEADERSHIP.
