Iraq Political News: Kobler calls on the Iraqis to participate in the Elections, the politicians to preserve its integrity

The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Iraq, Martin Kobler, called on the Iraqis to participate actively in the elections and on the politicians to preserve its integrity.

A statement on Thursday, Apr. 18, by the UN Office in Iraq, quoted Kobler saying, “I call on all men, women to vote for a better future for them and for their children. I specially call on the youth because they are the future of this country.”

Kobler stressed that it is on the political leaders to preserve the integrity of the political process, pointing out, “Consolidating democracy depends on the desire of political leaders to guarantee transparent election, free from intimidation or political interference.”
