This morning we got a call from an Iraqi citizen in another country, and he said that today, for the first time, he could use his Qi card internationally. They are dancing in the streets about that. [If they are able to spend money on the Qi cards internationally, then how far behind can we be?] We are not telling you that in an hour you will be at the bank, but I can tell you that we are here. 8-13-2014 Intel Guru DC Bottom line, folks, is that things look very, very good. It’s similar to Monday where we had concrete steps in Iraq and to push the RV out. Iraq is making credible moves forward. Maliki has moved most of his papers out of his office and burned many of his files...Maliki is still there, but not really in play. The CBI and others have put out press statements saying they are implementing banking reforms, and the revaluation as it applies to everyone’s financial balance sheets. They have to use the new rates to reflect the new dinar. [some sources have been saying the Iraqi government has to be seated and stable, and until then Turki will not release the RV?] We have a good feel for where the CBI stands, and we don’t think that’s really an issue any longer. WE have been told to ramp up our preparations we believe this is coming out on a short timeframe.

8-13-2014 Newshound Guru Adam Montana Another important point - the new President of Iraq is a Kurd (Sunni), but the new choice for Prime Minister was chosen out of the same political party as Maliki. This is a strong indicator of exactly how powerful the Shiite clan is in Baghdad and in the government there, which begs the question...Will a new PM make a difference? After much research on the new choice for PM Haider Al-Abadi, I think it will. Although they are of the same political party, Haider Al-Abadi is a much different man than Maliki... Abadi appears to be more of a diplomat. He will be much more likely to reach across the aisle and compromise or even help the Kurds, and that's something that is desperately needed right now. So at this time, we wait a short 27 more days to see if Abadi can be successful in actually pushing Maliki out and forming a government. [post 2 of 2]

I've held onto the belief that Maliki would remain in the position of Prime Minister, but now there is a serious chance that he will be replaced. For those of you just tuning in, President Fuad Masum has made a bold move and declared Haider Al-Abadi the new PM, and gave him 30 days to form the government. There are a couple of things to consider on the matter, so I won't be making any statements like "He is GONE" - it would be foolish to underestimate Maliki and possibly over-estimate the new President Fuad Masum's ability to stand by his decision. If we don't at some point fix the dollar and the dollar caves in value, every country out there will be affected. That's what the IMF has been trying to fix in conjunction with every major institution and if you understand and believe this, then it is not too difficult to fill in the blanks on why this experiment in Iraq has to work and has to be successful. Maliki's relatives have come out asking him to step down and transfer power to the new government peacefully. Maliki's own legal department that has always done his bidding has now stated they will no longer work for Maliki but instead now work for the new government. The army which was my biggest fear because some were loyal to Maliki, are now on record saying they no longer answer to Maliki but answer to and will protect the new government. Obama came out in total support of the new government warning Maliki to back off and step down. Iran has recognized the new government as has Europe. It is now my opinion that he will run in the next 24 hours. Abadi is pushing to quickly finish building this government. He has stated he will be ready next week with his list of Ministers to take over their new positions. This list will be given to parliament and at that time they will vote to make it a government. The vote will be close or at unanimous because these guys are now for the first time all working from the same page. Even the SOL guys are working in unison with the parliament for the first time. They have a judiciary ruling so it's unlikely changes will be made. The CBI said "we're good, let's go" and they're ready with a timeline, which we were asked not to share. In summary: everything in Iraq is wonderful. The PM drama has subsided in the past 2 hours, per texts I've been getting. It's becoming more secure and stable by the minute. The new PM has triggered events and we are all extremely optimistic that the timeline is close.

8-11-2014 Newshound Guru Tlar Turki put the following article out this morning saying the dinar is stable and has been unaffected throughout this process of government change, one of the two requirements for monetary change the other being the government issue "settled". The laws pertaining to money laundering are in place and the banking system is complying to international banking laws. Through this article and his statements, he is implying that Iraq is ready for a monetary change. 8-11-2014 Newshound Guru Tlar Iraq is in compliance with IMF's article VIII international currency rules which means they are ready to go international with their currency. The WTO says that Iraq has met all regulations to become a full member and is just waiting on the WTO to stamp their certificate of ascension (I believe they are doing what the WTO said they would do in 2009 and that is the minute Iraq goes international with their currency and gives it value, they will get that stamp). 8-11-2014 Intel Guru SteveI I have every reason to believe my sources that is telling me that former Prime Minister Maliki is now officially history. Yes will continue to rattle some cages, but nothing will become of it. I hope now focuses on his exit plans vs. his continued third term. I do believe it he stays and causes trouble, he will be arrested pursuant to the current charges against him in the International Courts. Our day is almost here. Now the next focus will be the rest of the laws including the budget. Bright days ahead for all of us.
8-11-2014 Intel Guru Mnt Goat So today’s news is all very, very good news as it went from very bad to very good in a couple of days once again. So the clock stops ticking and the new PM was announced today on Monday. Ibrahim al-Jaafari said today in a statement that the alliance of Shiite political parties has agreed to nominate Haider al-Ibadi to replace Maliki and to form a new government. He is also voted in by parliament and accepted by the majority. He has not however taken his oath of office yet to begin his job. Since the PM is now selected (the third of the three presidents) we wait for the oath of office to be administered and the public announcement. This will be our sign that the RV is just around the corner. I want to emphasize once again this final announcement of the IQD going international will not happen until the USA feels the Iraq government is stable, non-sectarian and is a functional government.

For over a month, it has been blatantly clear in articles that he [Maliki] was going to leave. I think he may now just move on fairly quickly. With the Supreme Court ruling against him today...he is totally without recourse. he is still PM of the caretaker govt until they vote in Abadi...according to a phone call I just got. the state dept has already met with Jabouri and Masaoum and is pushing hard to get this to Parl at the earliest moment.
