It is very moving ……… Emotional……….. For all Americans. It is personal.
The last time we were on her………… Tink heard a song being played while on board. It was the Marine’s theme song “From the Halls of Montezuma” …….playing softly in the background.
We asked the tour guide where the music was coming from.
He looked at us a little perplexed and with a smile on his face he said….we do not play music onboard the Memorial. Nor are there any bands in the vicinity.
There are moments in life Family that leave a lasting impression branded into the soul that we were born with. This was one of those moments. I love my country …..I am grateful for all the men and women that have served to protect our nation.
My dream is to take as many of you to this Arizona Memorial as possible. You see Family…..the Arizona Memorial is a man made island in the West Pacific waters where the tree can be rebuilt once again through the precious Grace and Love of God.
You may not understand what I am trying to say right now until I take you there and show you things that words nor pictures can not project. When I see the Japanese take their first step onto the Arizona Memorial it’s as if closure finally came to them.
My father used to deliver the fallen soldier back to his family’s home in the 60′s. I used to accompany him and watch from a distance.
To this day……I am bothered when I hear taps followed by gun salute and the folding of our American flag into a triangle then being presented to the surviving family members. We in the military are a very bonded family.
I suppose it bothers me to remember the 60′s with my dad because this military procedure was done for my sister when she died in Germany as we returned to bury her in Fort Sam Houston Texas.
Indeed……life offers many flavors some are sweet and some are sour. Thank goodness………for the sweet and sour dishes of our lives.
I leave you in peace Family. I leave you with my Christian love. I will see you tomorrow at 8pm EST for our second prayer Conference Call. Aloha from my soul to yours……… :hibye: KTFA, Frank
