Republican senator sees mid-May committee vote for U.S. EPA pick

Republicans on a Senate committee expect a vote by mid-May on President Barack Obama’s nominee to lead the Environmental Protection Agency, provided that the nominee, Gina McCarthy, responds to a range of questions, a Senate staffer said on Thursday.
